HOW TO GET RID OF DOG URINE SMELL OUTSIDE

What You Need

If your patio or yard smells worse every hot afternoon, you're not imagining it. Dog urine soaks into porous surfaces like concrete, pavers, gravel, soil, and artificial turf backing. Rinsing with water alone only spreads the urine around, and heat and humidity bring the odor right back.

While some people swear by baking soda, hydrogen peroxide, or white vinegar, these won't break down pet urine odor like an odor-removing enzymatic cleaner. Additionally, those home remedies can harm plants or grass in your outdoor space.

To get rid of dog pee smell for good, you need to break down the urine residue itself, not just mask it. Simple Green Outdoor Odor Eliminator uses naturally occurring enzymes that eliminate odors at the source.

It works on dog runs, grass, artificial turf, gravel, concrete patios, walkways, and more.

Directions for Removing Dog Urine Smell Outside:

Note: Treat the area at dawn or dusk. Cooler temperatures keep the product damp longer, giving the enzymes more time to work.

  1. Clear the area. Pick up any solid waste and keep pets out of the area. Shake the bottle of Simple Green Outdoor Odor Eliminator well before use.
  2. Connect your hose. Attach the garden hose to the back of the sprayer. Keep the nozzle pointed away from your face.
  3. Apply the cleaner. Turn on the water slowly and use low to moderate pressure. Push the safety tab forward toward the hose and turn the nozzle clockwise to the "On" position. Spray down the area.
  4. Scrub stubborn spots. For heavy or long-standing odors, scrub the affected area with a stiff brush to work the product deeper into the surface.
  5. Let it work. Leave the product on for 10 to 15 minutes so it can soak into the surface. Keep it damp the whole time, since the longer it stays wet, the longer the enzymes will work. In hot or windy weather, lightly mist the area with more product to prevent quick evaporation.
  6. Let it dry. Allow the area to fully air-dry before letting pets back in. Repeat on any spots where odor remains.
