HOW TO REMOVE GREASE STAINS

Whether you're a seasoned auto mechanic or a do-it-yourself aficionado, you've likely seen your fair share of motor oil and automotive grease in places it doesn't belong. Changing the oil leaves you with grease and grime all over your hands, which somehow transfers onto your clothes, and even ends up on the bottom of your shoes and tracked onto the carpet in the house.

Simple Green All-Purpose Cleaner is also a powerful degreaser, so before you rush off to the dry cleaner or consider replacing your carpet, let it work its magic on that grease spot and those oil stains.

As always, try to treat the stain as soon as possible to make it easier to clean.

If you're unsure about how Simple Green will affect a surface, be sure to spot test before cleaning.

DIRECTIONS

Fabric & Clothes

  1. Remove excess oil or grease. Scrape off as much of the grease or oil as possible with a spoon, being careful not to grind the grease into the fabric.
  2. Blot with a dry towel. Blot the stain with a paper towel until no more of the stain comes off.
  3. Rinse with cold water. Rinse the back of the stained area with cold water. This will allow the stain to travel back through the least amount of fabric instead of seeping further into it.
  4. Spray full strength Simple Green All-Purpose Cleaner onto the stained area. Allow the cleaning solution to soak into the stain for a few minutes to allow it to break down the oil and grease.
  5. Agitate the stain. Gently blot the stained area with a clean, damp towel or absorbent cloth.
  6. Rinse with clean water. Run the fabric under clean, cool water to wash away the cleaner.
  7. Wash as usual. Be sure to wash the clothing in the washing machine in cold water. Hang or air dry the item.
  8. Check the stain. Only tumble dry or iron if the stain is entirely gone.
  9. Repeat the process if necessary.
