HOW TO CLEAN YOUR SHOWER CURTAIN LINER
A shower curtain liner dotted with soap scum, mold, mildew, and stains can make your skin crawl. If you’ve reached the point of hugging the wall to avoid letting the plastic curtain touch you, it may be time for a good cleaning.
Many cleaning tips suggest washing the liner with about 1/2 cup of baking soda and a cup of distilled white vinegar. But the acetic acid in vinegar and the sodium bicarbonate in baking soda react to make carbonic acid, which then immediately falls apart into carbon dioxide and water. Last we checked, soap scum and shower grime will not fall victim to a little dilute solution of sodium acetate (salt) and water.
Clean your plastic shower curtain liner with Simple Green All-Purpose Cleaner and extend its usability for months to come. Simple Green can be used for spot cleaning and as a detergent booster when it comes time to wash your plastic shower curtain liner.
We recommend giving your curtain liner a quick clean each week as you’re cleaning the rest of your bathroom. Every few months, deep clean to prevent soap scum buildup and keep it looking brand new.
