HOW TO POLISH CONCRETE COUNTERTOPS

What You Need

Concrete countertops offer a striking, modern look but often require more care than natural stone surfaces. Their porous nature makes them more prone to scratches, stains, and liquid absorption, which can lead to discoloration and bacterial growth over time. Proper sealing is essential to protect the surface, making it more resistant to heat, scratches, and everyday wear.

Routine cleaning and polishing help maintain the smooth, polished look of concrete counters. Acidic cleaners like vinegar can damage the surface, causing etching and pitting. A non-abrasive stone cleaner like Simple Green Granite & Stone Cleaner effectively removes dirt and grime without harming the finish.

To restore shine, follow with a safe, streak-free polish such as Simple Green Granite & Stone Polish, formulated for use on concrete, granite, marble, quartz, and other natural or engineered stone surfaces.

DIRECTIONS FOR POLISHING CONCRETE COUNTERTOPS:

  1. Spray Simple Green Granite & Stone Cleaner and wipe off with a non-abrasive, absorbent cloth or paper towel. To deep clean surfaces, allow the cleaner to sit for one minute, then wipe off.
  2. Spray Simple Green Granite & Stone Polish to a section of countertop.
  3. Wipe off with a non-abrasive, soft cloth or paper towel.
  4. Repeat in sections until you've polished the entire surface.

Tip: To further prevent future scratches and stains, always use cutting boards and clean up messes quickly.

CAUTION: DO NOT USE ON FLOORS - newly polished surfaces may become slick or slippery. Clean off overspray from floors with a cleaner such as Simple Green All-Purpose Cleaner.
