HOW TO CLEAN A CHARCOAL GRILL
The outdoor barbecuing experience is a time-honored tradition in backyards around the globe. But keeping your charcoal grill clean can be a challenge, with sauce splatter, burger grease and accumulated leftover chunks of charred food on your grates - not to mention unwelcome leftover flavors from last week's fish cookout working their way into your burgers.
You want to reach for a product that's strong enough to cut through grease and char without leaving harsh chemicals behind, like powerful, U.S. EPA Safer Choice Certified Simple Green All-Purpose Cleaner.
DIRECTIONS FOR CLEANING A CHARCOAL GRILL:
- Prep. Make sure the grill is completely cool. Remove the grill and charcoal grates and place them on newspaper to contain the mess.
- Coat the grates with Simple Green All-Purpose Cleaner and let them sit for a few minutes. Use a grill brush to scrub away grime, then rinse thoroughly with water.
- Spray underside of the lid with Simple Green and scrub gently to remove buildup. Wipe clean and rinse.
- Coat the interior of the grill with Simple Green, let it sit, then wipe out grease and debris. Rinse well.
- Spray and wipe down the exterior of the grill with a clean cloth—especially if you don't use a grill cover. (optional)
- Put everything back together, clean your tools, toss the newspaper, and you're ready for the next cookout.
