Congratulations! You're almost done with dirty diapers! We'll give you a moment to celebrate before we remind you that you'll still be dealing with your toddler's bodily functions for a little while longer during potty training...

Aside from a diaper or two here and there and handling the occasional accident, you'll now be leveling up to cleaning the baby potty chair.

There is a set of cleaning instructions to follow after each use, once a day, and once a week. After each use, take the potty into your bathroom and dump any soils and toilet paper into the toilet. Spray a solution of 1 ounce of Simple Green All-Purpose Cleaner and 1 cup of water onto a handful of paper towels and wipe down the potty seat. Wipe the seat once more with a new paper towel dampened with plain water, and voila!

Cleaning a potty with white vinegar or soapy water won't provide you with the surfactants needed to help penetrate, loosen, and remove soils, meaning you could just be pushing dirt around instead of
cleaning.

People commonly use disinfecting wipes for wiping up during toilet training because they seem convenient. Still, wipes can require that surfaces remain wet for up to 10 minutes to be effective.

Keeping a surface wet with disinfecting wipes can be more difficult than you might think. Many of them contain alcohol, which can cause the liquid to dry quickly and can also cause premature cracking of plastic and vinyl. This can make it challenging to keep the surface wet without re-wiping multiple times, resulting in a potential waste of time and money.

You don't need to wear rubber gloves when touching Simple Green, but you should use them to avoid cross-contaminating other surfaces. It helps to buy them in a different color than those you use otherwise, so you never accidentally use your toilet cleaning gloves for other household chores.

Directions for Cleaning a Baby Potty:

Daily

1. Prepare the surface. Carry the potty to the bathroom, being careful not to spill anything. Pour the soil(s) into your toilet.
2. Apply cleaner. Spray the inside and outside of the toilet with full strength Simple Green All-Purpose Cleaner.
3. Fill the inside with hot water. Swish the water and cleaner around for a few seconds, then pour the mixture out into your sink or toilet.
4. Wipe. Use a clean paper towel to wipe down the inside. Grab another clean paper towel to wipe the outside and the seat.
5. Rinse. Rinse and air dry or dry with a clean towel.

Weekly

1. Clean the baby potty seat before disinfecting. Repeat Steps 1-6 under Daily cleaning.
2. DISINFECTING, DEODORIZING:
   • Remove gross filth or heavy soil prior to application of Simple Green Clean Finish Disinfectant Cleaner.
   • Apply product with a hand pump trigger sprayer. Hold sprayer six to eight inches from the surface to be treated.
   • Spray area until it is covered with the product.
   • Allow surface to remain wet for 2 minutes. No scrubbing necessary.
   • Allow treated surfaces to air dry or wipe off with clean cloth.
