Huntington Beach, CA - Sunshine Makers, Inc. - the makers of Simple Green, are proud to announce the winner of the 2008 Adopt-A-Clean-Up contest, which will be receiving a $5,000.00 event-sponsorship grant. Many organizations entered to be chosen as the grant winner; only four were chosen as finalists: The Pacific Marine Mammal Center in Laguna Beach, CA; Back To Natives in Irvine, CA; the Environmental Nature Center in Newport Beach, CA; and the Earth Resources Foundation in Costa Mesa, CA.
This year's winner is the Pacific Marine Mammal Center! The PMMC is a non-profit organization dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and release of marine mammals stranded along the Orange County coastline and to the increasing public awareness of the marine environment through education and research. They will be hosting a 2-day Public Awareness event over Earth Day Weekend, April 19-20, focused on educating the community at large about caring for marine and wildlife by keeping oceans and waterways clean and clear. The grant will be awarded on April 4th, 2008 at their location in Laguna Beach. Simple Green is proud to support such an outstanding and dedicated organization.
Over the years, Simple Green has worked with and supported many community outreach programs including the Los Angeles Conservation Corps, The SEALab, the Catalina Conservancy, and now the Pacific Marine Mammal Center. Together we are all striving to make a difference, to save our environment and all who live and thrive in it, and to educate all about the importance of environmental responsibility and protecting our most precious resource, our planet.
