Q: Can Simple Green All-Purpose Cleaner be used against Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19)?

Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) is the disease caused by the virus SARS-CoV-2.

Simple Green All-Purpose Cleaner is not a disinfectant and will not kill bacteria or viruses. Simple Green All-Purpose Cleaner can not treat a disease. Simple Green All-Purpose Cleaner can be used to clean a surface before applying a disinfecting solution.

Q: Do any of your products contain Ethanol? Ethyl Alcohol? Isopropanol? Hydrogen Peroxide? Bleach? Sodium Hypochlorite?

No. Our products either do not contain these ingredients or do not contain them in a useful enough quantity to be used against SARS-CoV-2. Q: Can your products be used as a skin sanitizer?

No. None of our products are approved or effective as a skin sanitizer. Most of our products should not be used to clean skin.

Q: Which Simple Green products can be used against SARS-CoV-2?

Simple Green Clean Finish has demonstrated effectiveness against viruses similar to SARS-CoV-2 on hard, non-porous surfaces. Therefore, Simple Green Clean Finish can be used against SARS-CoV-2 when used in accordance with the directions for use against Poliovirus Type 1 on hard, non-porous surfaces. Simple Green d Pro 3 Plus has demonstrated effectiveness against viruses similar to SARS-CoV-2 on hard, non-porous surfaces. Therefore, Simple Green d Pro 3 Plus can be used against SARS-CoV-2 when used in accordance with the directions for use against Feline Picornavirus on hard, non-porous surfaces. Simple Green d Pro 5 kills Coronavirus (SARS-Related Coronavirus 2) on hard, non-porous, non-food surfaces that causes COVID-19.

Q: How do I use Simple Green Clean Finish?

VIRUCIDIAL ACTIVITY: This product is an effective virucide on hard, non-porous surfaces against Poliovirus Type 1, when treated surface is allowed to remain wet for 5 minutes.

DISINFECTING: Remove gross filth or heavy soil prior to application of Simple Green Clean Finish Disinfectant Cleaner. Apply product with a hand pump trigger spray. Hold sprayer six to eight inches from the surface to be treated. Spray area until it is covered with the product. Allow surface to remain visibly wet. Allow treated surfaces to air dry or wipe off with clean cloth.

When using on food contact surfaces: counter tops, stovetops, highchairs, kitchen appliances, thoroughly rinse all treated surfaces with potable (tap) water. This product must not be used to clean eating utensils, glassware and dishes.

Q: How do I use Simple Green d Pro 3 Plus?

This product kills the following viruses in 10 minutes at 2 oz. per gal. of 400 ppm hard water and 5% soil on hard, non-porous surfaces: Feline Picornavirus

FOR USE AS A GENERAL, HOSPITAL DISINFECTANT, FUNGICIDE, VIRUCIDE*: Pre-clean heavily soiled areas. Apply use solution to disinfect hard, non-porous surfaces with a sponge, brush, cloth, mop, by immersion, mechanical spray device, coarse trigger spray device. For spray applications, spray 6-8 inches from surface. Do not breathe spray. Treated surfaces must remain wet for 10 minutes. Wipe dry with a clean cloth or allow to air dry. Rinsing of floors is not necessary unless they are to be waxed or polished. Prepare a fresh solution daily or when visibly dirty.

Q: How do I use Simple Green d Pro 5?

Effective against SARS-Related Coronavirus 2 on hard, non-porous, non-food surfaces (SARS-CoV-2) in 1 minute.

Preparation of Disinfectant Use-Solution: 2oz per gallon of water (1:64).

DISINFECTION: Apply use-solution to hard, non-porous surfaces, thoroughly wetting the surfaces, with a cloth, mop, sponge, sprayer or by immersion. Treated surfaces must remain visibly wet for 10 minutes. For Influenza Virus Type A and Human Coronavirus and SARS-Cov-2, treated surfaces must remain visibly wet for 1 minute. Wipe dry with a cloth, sponge or mop or allow to air dry. For visibly soiled areas, a preliminary cleaning is required. For sprayer applications, use a coarse spray device. Spray 6 – 8 inches from surface. Avoid breathing spray.

Rinse all surfaces that come into contact with food such as countertops, appliances, tables and stovetops with potable water before reuse. Do not use on utensils, glassware and dishes as a disinfectant.

Q: Can I use your disinfectants with a fogger, floor scrubber, aerosolizer, atomizer or some other type of machine?

The approved application methods are listed above. You cannot use these products any other way.

Q: Can I use your disinfectants on laundry, fabric, carpet or upholstery?

No. Our disinfectants are registered for hard, non-porous surfaces only.
Any surfaces you apply it to should also be able to remain wet for 10 minutes.

Q: If your label shows shorter contact times or weaker solutions – can I follow that instead?

No. The EPA has determined what strength and time period is required to be effective against SARS-CoV-2. Using a weaker solution or shorter wet contact time will not work.

Q: If a disinfectant says it is effective against Human Coronavirus, SARS or MERS, does that automatically mean it is effective SARS-CoV-2

No. The EPA has decided which are the best products to use against SARS-CoV-2.
