HOW TO CLEAN CULTURED MARBLE COUNTERTOPS

What You Need

For the elegant look of natural stone without the high cost, many homeowners are turning to cultured marble for countertops, sinks, and vanities. This durable, non-porous material combines 75% marble dust with 25% resin and is finished with a protective gel coating. The result is a surface that mimics the veining and shine of real marble while offering added resilience and easier maintenance.

To keep cultured marble countertops looking their best, gentle care is key. Harsh chemicals like bleach and abrasive cleaners can damage the protective coating, leaving the surface dull or scratched. Acidic cleaners, including vinegar, should also be avoided as they can etch the finish. Abrasive tools such as scouring pads and steel wool may leave behind scratches.

For regular cleaning, a non-abrasive solution like Simple Green Granite & Stone Cleaner is a safe, effective choice. Designed for natural and engineered stone surfaces, it removes dirt and grime while leaving a streak-free shine. The formula is ideal for daily use on marble, granite, quartz, concrete, and more.

DIRECTIONS FOR CLEANING CULTURED MARBLE COUNTERTOPS:

  1. Move appliances. Unplug countertop appliances and move them to where they won't be in the way of cleaning. Wipe the countertop with a dry paper towel to remove loose crumbs.
  2. Spray Simple Green Granite & Stone Cleaner on the countertops. Leave it sitting for a minute if you're cleaning heavy grime, grease, makeup, dried toothpaste, or other stubborn spots.
  3. Scrub, if necessary. Use a sponge or non-abrasive cloth to agitate.
  4. Wipe and rinse. Thoroughly wipe with a damp cloth, sponge or paper towels to ensure there is no residue left behind. Give the surface a final wipe-down with a non-abrasive soft cloth or paper towels for a streak-free finish.
  5. Dry and polish. For extra shine and protection, follow your cleaning with Simple Green Granite & Stone Polish. Give the countertops a final wipe down with a non-abrasive, soft cloth or paper towel for a clean, streak-free finish.
