What is the EPA National Contingency Plan? Are Simple Green products listed?

The National Oil and Hazardous Substances Pollution Contingency Plan, more commonly called the National Contingency Plan or NCP, is the federal government's blueprint for responding to both oil spills and hazardous substance releases. Simple Green All-Purpose Cleaner is on the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's NCP Product Schedule as a surface washing agent. This listing does NOT mean that EPA approves, recommends, licenses, certifies, or authorizes the use of Simple Green All-Purpose Cleaner on an oil discharge. The listing means only that data has been submitted to EPA as required by subpart J of the National Contingency Plan, 300.915. (Source 40 CFR section 300.920(e)).
