HOW TO CLEAN BEDROOM FLOORS

Each type of flooring carries its specific cleaning dos and don'ts, but the most important thing when it comes to any floor is to get the job done without discoloring or damaging it.

Cleaning carpet regularly is important because repeatedly walking across a dirty section can wear the carpet fibers down, which mats them and makes them stain more easily. Regular vacuuming provides the first line of defense against dirt, but carpets will also need to be spot cleaned any time a spill happens and regularly deep cleaned every 12 to 18 months to keep them looking their best.

The best way to clean hardwood floors is with a damp mop and an appropriate floor cleaner. Avoid using products that include vinegar, soap-based cleaners, or wax on hardwood flooring. These can erode or damage the veneer surface on the upper layer of the wood. Never clean with steel wool, melamine sponges, or a steam cleaner, as these could also leave behind irreversible wear and tear.

When cleaning laminate floors, it's crucial to steer clear of scouring tools, abrasive cleaners, acids, and powdered cleansers that can leave scratches behind. Also, skip the baking soda, as this can leave behind a stubborn white film, causing you to have to do multiple rounds of floor cleaning.

Clean tile floors at least once a week, and wipe up spills and wet spots as soon as you notice them. Wet, grimy dirt becomes more challenging to remove the longer it sits on the tile. Avoid using bleach, ammonia, and acidic products like lemon and vinegar to clean tile.

Instead of hoarding half a dozen different floor cleaning products under your sink, Simple Green All-Purpose Cleaner can tackle your toughest floor messes and stains regardless of flooring type. It safely and quickly cleans up spills, removes scuff marks, and tackles dirty areas on both carpet and hard flooring. The non-corrosive cleaner and degreaser will not discolor or degrade your flooring's finish like bleach, vinegar, and other chemicals. Plus, the formula is biodegradable*ast;.
