HOW TO CLEAN A STROLLER

What You Need

As a parent to little ones, you likely bring strollers everywhere you go. They quickly accumulate dirt and grime that settles into every nook and cranny. Spilled snacks, sippy cups, diaper leaks, and other everyday messes can cause stains and odors.

Thankfully, strollers are designed to handle these kinds of accidents and mishaps. Removable straps, padding and buckles make cleanup more manageable. To keep the stroller looking new, tackle bigger messes as they happen and maintain it with a quick weekly wipe-down.

Using baby wipes on a stroller may seem convenient, but they can leave behind residue. Disinfectants often contain alcohol or bleach, which can damage plastic and fabric over time. Simple Green All-Purpose Cleaner, diluted at a 1:10 ratio, offers a safer alternative for everyday stroller cleaning. It meets the EPA's Safer Choice Standard and effectively removes food stains, dirt, and grime without damaging materials.

Directions For Cleaning a Stroller:

Tip: Before cleaning, check the stroller's manufacturer care instructions for specific guidelines.

  1. Detach removable parts. Detach any removable parts before cleaning such as straps, padding, or buckles.
  2. Vacuum. Remove loose dirt and crumbs with a handheld vacuum. Pay extra attention to where the back of the stroller seat meets the bottom of the seat.
  3. Dilute. Using a dilution bottle or empty spray bottle, dilute Simple Green All-Purpose Cleaner at a ratio of 1:10 (1 part cleaner and 10 parts water).
  4. Apply cleaner. Spray the diluted Simple Green All-Purpose Cleaner on the stroller's surface including the frame, buckles, seat, straps, and padding, to remove dirt. You may also spray the diluted Simple Green All-Purpose Cleaner on a microfiber cloth and wipe down the entire stroller to remove dirt.
  5. Scrub. For crusty spots and hard-to-reach areas, use a nylon-bristled cleaning brush or toothbrush to scrub away the dirt.
  6. Rinse. Rinse the stroller with water or use a clean, damp microfiber cloth to wipe down the entire stroller.
  7. Dry and reassemble. Use a clean, dry microfiber cloth to dry the stroller and all removable parts, then reattach the parts to the stroller.

Tip: To prevent mold, mildew, or rust, never fold or store the stroller when wet or damp.
