HOW TO CLEAN AN RV


What You Need

  • Simple Green All-Purpose Cleaner
  • Bucket or large container
  • Chamois or microfiber cloth or non-abrasive towel
  • Soft sponge or car wash brush or non-abrasive cloth or non-abrasive scrub
  • Water

Regular cleaning helps keep your RV looking its best while protecting exterior surfaces from dirt, road grime, and environmental buildup. Routine maintenance can also help extend the life of finishes, seals, and components. Follow the steps below to safely and effectively clean your RV.

RV Cleaning Applications

Use Simple Green All-Purpose Cleaner on any washable surface inside or outside your RV such as:

Exterior:

  • Awnings
  • Covers
  • Hubcaps
  • Tires

Interior:

  • Bathroom surfaces
  • Carpet and hard floor surfaces
  • Counters and tables
  • Dashboard and interior panels
  • Furniture and upholstery
  • Stove and refrigerator

Directions to Clean an RV

Tip: When in doubt about a surface, always spot test first.

  1. Dilute. Mix ½ cup Simple Green All-Purpose Cleaner per gallon of water (dilution ratio of 1:32) in a clean empty bucket.
  2. Pre-rinse. Pre-rinse the surface of the RV with water to remove loose dirt and debris.
  3. Wash. Dip a soft sponge, car wash brush, non-abrasive cloth, or non-abrasive scrub in the diluted Simple Green All-Purpose Cleaner and gently scrub the surface in small sections.
  4. Rinse. Rinse the surface thoroughly with clean water to remove any residue.
  5. Dry. Immediately dry the surface with a chamois, microfiber cloth, or non-abrasive towel.
