RV BLACK WATER TANK TREATMENT
DIRECTIONS:
- Keep your black holding tank valve closed except for when you are pumping your tank.
- Before using your black tank fill it with 1-3 gallons of water.
- Drop a Septic Guardian treatment pod into your tank before you use your toilet and then again after every tank dump.
- Be sure to use plenty of water when using the toilet. Bacteria and enzymes need water to thrive and do their job effectively. Hold your flush pedal down 5-10 seconds every time you flush.
- Dump your black water holding tank every 3-5 days.
- Thoroughly flush your RV black tank for 20-30 minutes after every 3-5 dumps using your built-in black tank flush* or an aftermarket tank rinser.
DIRECTIONS:
- Keep your black holding tank valve closed except when dumping at an authorized RV tank dump site.
- Before your dry camping/boondocking trip, add 2-4 gallons of water to your black tank.
- Drop a Septic Guardian treatment pod into your tank before you use your toilet and then again after every tank dump.
- Be sure to use plenty of water when using the toilet. Dry campers may find this challenging, but to avoid odors and clogs using plenty of water is essential.
- Keep several inches of water in the toilet bowl while parked to prevent nasty smells from wafting into your living area.
- Fill the toilet bowl with water before use and fully flush after use. Hold the flush pedal 5-10 seconds every time you flush.
- Dump your black water holding tank every 3-5 days. If you need to extend this time or you are facing high temperatures, you may need to retreat your tank with a Septic Guardian pod every 4 days to boost your black tank's bacteria count.
- Thoroughly flush your RV black tank for 20-30 minutes after every dump using your built-in black tank flush* or an aftermarket tank rinser.
NOTE: You can also use Simple Green Septic Guardian treatment pods to digest waste and eliminate odors in marine black tanks. Drop one pod in your marine tank each time you reset the system after dumping your tank.
*Refer to your RV owner's manual for instructions on how to use your built-in black tank flush system.
