HOW TO POLISH GRANITE COUNTERTOPS

Granite is a premium building material that stands out for its long-lasting beauty. Granite countertops are durable, but like most, they can show some wear and tear with regular use over time. This type of countertop installation is a significant investment, so it's important to protect the granite's beauty while getting the most for your money as long as you can.

Before polishing, make sure your surface is clean. Some cleaners are too abrasive or acidic for granite. Never use vinegar, glass cleaner, or bleach to clean your countertops, as these harsh substances will dull the granite and weaken the sealant. For best results, use Simple Green Granite & Stone Cleaner to ensure your granite counters have been properly cleaned.

After cleaning, you'll want to polish with a product that won't leave behind residue or streaks. Simple Green Granite & Stone Polish is safe for use on granite, marble, travertine, limestone, porcelain, ceramic, quartz, Corian®*, Silestone®*, and other natural and engineered stone surfaces.

Directions for Polishing Granite Countertops:

  1. Clean surface. Spray Simple Green Granite & Stone Cleaner and wipe off with a non-abrasive, absorbent cloth or paper towel. To deep clean surfaces, allow the cleaner to sit for one minute, then wipe off.
  2. Spray polish. Apply Simple Green Granite & Stone Polish to a section of countertop.
  3. Wipe. Wipe off with a non-abrasive, soft cloth or paper towel. Repeat in sections until you've polished the entire surface.

CAUTION: DO NOT USE ON FLOORS – newly polished surfaces may become slick or slippery. Clean off overspray from floors with a cleaner such as Simple Green All-Purpose Cleaner.
