How to Clean Hardwood Floors
When cleaning hardwood floors, it's important to use a cleaner that won't damage the finish or the surface of the wood. Simple Green All-Purpose Cleaner is great for cleaning up spills and scuffmarks, and tackling dirty areas without degrading the finish of your wood flooring like vinegar or other acidic chemicals. Plus, it's non-toxic and biodegradable, a safer cleaning alternative for surfaces where children and pets play.
If you're unsure about how Simple Green will affect a surface, be sure to spot test before cleaning.
- Sweep the floor first.
- Mix 1 oz. of Simple Green All-Purpose Cleaner with 4 cups of water and lightly mist the solution onto the floor in sections. Use a damp microfiber mop to spread the solution.
- To avoid warping the wood, don't over-wet the surface or let liquid pool.
- For dirty spots and grout scrub with a soft bristle brush.
- Dry each section with a dry cloth after cleaning.
